Indy & Roxy, my Portugese Water Dogs love coming to Wags & Wiggles. They attend weekly agility class and will soon be ready for competition. Agility class keeps them active, gives them exercise, and gives me a chance to spend some fun playtime with them. They also love seeing their friends when they come to stay at the daycare facility.

AGILITY
TRAINING
AGILITY is the exciting dog sport where dogs learn to cross over, crawl through, and climb over obstacles such as tunnels, jumps, and weave poles. This class is for everyone looking to spend some fun time with their dogs or looking to compete. Dogs love this stuff and they don't even realize its training. This class is also great for owners wanting to gain better off-leash trust with their dogs. This is an all-breed and mixed-breed sport. Agility will satisfy the needs of high-energy dogs and will build confidence in shy dogs.
REGULAR AGILITY CLASSES
The Wags & Wiggles Agility Program is run by serious agility competitors however the classes are basic enough for even the newest person to agility. We focus on the skills that will help you build a team between you and your dog, whether you decide to compete at the highest level or just for fun.
Foundation agility focuses on the skills that will help you succeed in agility. Our program contains many elements from many great trainers however some elements come from Susan Garrett's, Greg Derrett's and Rachel Sander's Foundation programs. While completing equipment properly is necessary to compete in agility, flatwork and skillwork is the main focus of our foundation program.
Dog's must be non-aggressive, have a 5 second sit/stay, and come when called.
Dogs must be at least 4 months of age and in good physical health.
Any dog that shows lack of control or reactivity will be required to complete the Control Unleashed Workshop before rejoining class.
Wags & Wiggles only allows 6 students per agility class. Class is 6 weeks at $120. This allows for much more class time per student than other training facilities.
FOUNDATION LEVEL 1 AGILITY: This is the first step to agility training for puppies or adult dogs. The focus is on start line stays & motivations, handling flat work, circle work, toy drive & retrieval, mat work, beginning body awareness, beginning directional cues, & tunnel training. There is criteria to move to the next level of agility so many students may be encouraged to repeat level 1 before moving on. Young dogs may need to repeat before they are age appropriate to move to the next level. Any student who repeats Foundation Level 1, get 10% off their repeat classes.
FOUNDATION LEVEL 2 AGILITY: In this level we move onto beginning 1 Jump Work, Right/Left Directions, front cross and rear cross on the flat, targeting work for contact training, crate training, advanced body awareness and more tunnel work. We also expand on skills learned from Level 1. There is criteria to move to the next level of agility so many students may be encouraged to repeat level 2 before moving on.
FOUNDATION LEVEL 3 AGILITY: In this level we move onto advanced flat work, advanced 1 Jump Work, 2 Jump Work, Beginning Box Work, Pinwheels, Board Work for Contacts, & Table.
BEGINNERS FOR COMPETITION: This level is for students who have become agility addicts and may possibly compete. Your dog must have met previous Foundation level 1 through level 3 criteria in order to join this class. If you have trained elsewhere and would like to join this level or above, please schedule a consultation with a W&W Trainer. Here we put all your hard work into practice. We complete basic contacts, weaves, teeter, more elaborate jump sequences and other equipment necessary
to compete at the novice level in AKC or USDAA. We focus on obstacle independence, handling manuevers like front cross, rear cross, 270 work, serpentines, threadles and more.
INTERMEDIATE FOR COMPETITION: For continuing students who are looking to improve their dog's speed, handler's timing, obstacle performance and excel in competition.
ADVANCED FOR COMPETITION: For continuing students who are currently competing.
FAST TRACK TO COMPETITION WORKSHOPS: This 4 week workshop is designed to supplement your normal agility class. This workshop will only be offered every couple months. There are only 4 people allowed in each class as this is a semi private environment at a lower cost in which a specific 4 week plan is designed just for your individual needs. This is to target your areas that you struggle with in class and address those so you have a better game plan to take back to class with you. This class will focus on handling, crosses, sequences, and lead outs. This class is only for people who have completed at least one round of Foundation level 2 of agility classes. Dogs must have fairly proficient jumping skills. As things usually do, what you excel at or struggle with in class will change over time. Qualified students are welcome to re-take Fast Track to Competition whenever needed to bump up their game. Cost is $120.
PRIVATE AGILITY LESSONS: Available at RSM or Tustin Facility. Great for students who need a plan for challenging things that are occuring in their regular classes or in competition. Can also target single problems that are preventing you from moving up to the next level of class or competition. $40/ 1/2 hr lesson, $70 1 hr lesson. Package of 5 (1 hr) lesson available for: $300.
AGILITY WORKSHOPS: Offered a couple times of years on different subjects.
