Indy & Roxy, my Portugese Water Dogs love coming to Wags & Wiggles. They attend weekly agility class and will soon be ready for competition. Agility class keeps them active, gives them exercise, and gives me a chance to spend some fun playtime with them. They also love seeing their friends when they come to stay at the daycare facility.

AGILITY
TRAINING
AGILITY is the exciting dog sport where dogs learn to cross over, crawl through, and climb over obstacles such as tunnels, jumps, and weave poles. This class is for everyone looking to spend some fun time with their dogs or looking to compete. Dogs love this stuff and they don't even realize its training. This class is also great for owners wanting to gain better off-leash trust with their dogs. This is an all-breed and mixed-breed sport. Agility will satisfy the needs of high-energy dogs and will build confidence in shy dogs.
REGULAR AGILITY CLASSES
Dog's must be non-aggressive, have a 5 second sit/stay, and come when called.
Dogs must be at least 4 months of age and in good physical health.
FOUNDATION AGILITY: This is the first step to agility training for puppies or adult dogs. Learn how to complete basic obstacles. This includes jump training, tunnel, chute, tire. We teach dogs how to pay attention to our handling cues. We start target training, stair work & use of a buja board for contact obstacles (dog walk, aframe, teeter). After you complete Foundation Agility, you will move to a different day/time for the next level class.
BEGINNING AGILITY: This is the next step to agility training. Learn how to sequence obstacles, start early competition training, learn front/rear crosses and other more complicated handling. Introduction of dog walk, aframe, teeter training. Introduction of weave poles.
INTERMEDIATE AGILITY: For continuing students who are looking to improve their dog's speed, handler's timing, obstacle performance and start novice competition.
ADVANCED AGILITY: For continuing students who are currently competing.
WORKSHOPS
Workshops are for the beginner level dog and above. Must have at least taken the foundation level class.
Workshops are 2 hours long, $30 each/$50 for 2 dogs.
Jumping Workshop: Taken from Susan Salo's jumping seminars, use jump grids to improve jumping style, build confidence, address knocked bars and lengthen stride. For more advanced students, we will practice front crosses, rear crosses, and bend work.
Weave Workshop: Taken from Rachel Sander's method of teaching weave drills and Susan Garret's 2x2 method of teaching entries. Class can acommodate all levels of weave understanding, from the newbie to the advanced student.
Contact Workshop: Teaching or improving contact performance of the teeter, aframe, and dog walk. For the newbie, we will address contact behavior (running or 2 on/2off position) and for the advanced student we will work on obstacle discrimination and speed.
